In this presentation we will highlight the fundaments of Quantum Computing for a broader audience. A cutting edge technology, which is still in infancy, but promises to be a game changer in the field of computing, and possibly will reshape society as we know it. We will discuss the current approaches and challenges in making Qubits and explore the possibilities for doing such experiments in a makerspace environment. With this, we hope to start a “DIY Quantum Computing” initiative which will involve lectures, presentations, workshops and experiments aimed towards a better understanding of Quantum Computing.
